Simon Monjack, the husband of Brittany Murphy was found in his home Sunday night unresponsive by Brittany’s mother around 9:30.
Monjack died of natural causes. His mother told PEOPLE that her son was “unwell, and the doctors are carrying out tests. On whether he has a heart problem it is not really for me to say, you must ask him, but yes, there have been health problems in the past. I believe it’s common knowledge, and it’s been in the press that he had a slight heart attack a week from Brittany’s death coming back from Puerto Rico.”
Simon was working on a new Ballet book project dedicated Brittney. He was also planning on taking a European getaway and taking Brittney’s mother with him. ”Of course I’ll take her with me – I can’t leave her, “ he said on the subject.
Last month Sharon Brittney’s mother dismissed rumores that her and Simon were romantically involved. “That’s disgusting, we’re close friends and we’re family. It’s an awful and ridiculous thing to say.” Sharon told PEOPLE.
