So there are 4 types of body shapes, first you need to determine what shape YOU are by looking at the chart above so you will be able to dress you body to its potential.
RECTANGLE: Rectangle is the ideal body shape for the average model. You need to find clothes that give the illusion of curves. to most flatter your top half go for V-necks, scoop necks, spaghetti straps, padded bras, pretty shirts cinched at the waist and structured jackets that flare at the waist.
As for the bottom half try to find fitted jeans with low wide pockets. That will make your but look rounder and fuller. Remember we are trying to create shape.
APPLE: Since apple’s tend to have a larger chest so make sure that you have a bra that supports. Show off your chest by wearing wrap around or V-neck, anything that creates a longer neck line. you want to find tops that also give the illusion of a smaller waist so look for empire waist shirts that hide those problem areas and belted jackets that hit at the hips. When looking for the bottom half look for flat front, and a rise that is lower than your natural waist. Look for jeans that have back pockets with flaps, this will help give some curve to a flatter rear. Also look for a bit of a flair to add a leaner look.
PEAR: Remember pears we always want to create balance. So when finding a top anything that widens out your shoulders like wider fitting necklines, SLIGHTLY puffy sleeves and big prints look great on you. You can wear looser fitted tops as well as fitted tops they both will look great.
For the bottom half we want to create the illusion of a slimmer hip line so the darker better. Look for wide, flared or straight legged jeans.
HOURGLASS: Choose tops that emphasize your great bust and waist! You want to find tops that lengthen you body like scoop and V-necks. You don’t have to worry too much most everything looks good on you. Look for jeans that will fit with a wider hip and smaller waist. Also jeans that will help balance you out a bit are wide leg and slightly flared.
